I totally agree with Mack I co-own 11 macks. All are either dumptrucks used to haul asphalt, or dump tractor-trailers used to haul asphalt, coal, limestone, slag, aggregate, etc. I have 2 Mack Superliners witht the sweet E9-500 V8 motor.

We looked at buying a Titan, but Mack wants way too much for them. International beat mack by 30,000 so we ordered our first non-mack truck the International Lonestar... 18 speed fuller, with the 600 Cummins

We wanted a Titan to make into a 6 axle dump trucks...but the Titan sits 13 inches higher than my 2 Granite 6 axle dumps...no way one would fit under a asphalt plant. Plus 30 grand is 30 grand

FALLOUT

Them titans are over priced. But it is one hell of a heavy spec. truck. Why didnt you just stick with the granites. A Granite is a nice truck for dump work. I really like them new GU model granite. I heat them new MP8 motors got some balls i think up to 485hp.

my boss said, they looked into buying a LoneStar but we don't currently need a new OTR truck and then I mentioned they have a day cab, and he got interested.

Would be cool!

MACK makes a killer truck! But, I don't see the problem with the LoneStar. It's just something different, not your traditional tractor design. Who knows. I like it!

All of IH trucks are very good trucks for the money. I always liked IH trucks. But i just hate the lonestar i think it is ugly as hell. Give me a 9900 over it anyday. Hell i might even take the right 9400 over the lonestar.

There is a Yellow one around town here, they do look sharp, but the 175K price tag kinda leaves me wanting.

Them things are no were near 175k I dont know were you got that number.

http://www.truckpaper.com/listings/l...E27C47F31EFA8B

The highest one os 164k and that thing is not worth it.

On avg. they range around 120,000-135,000

yeah, I really like our 9900i, we have a nice 9400i for OTR as well. All of our OTR trucks have 500hp cummins. Local route trucks have 400hp cummins.

I guess I like the LoneStar cause it's different. Something new

I have the Mack Titan as my background on my computer account at work.

I agree with gear jammer on this one...9900i is a good looking truck that gets the job done. I'm still a big fan of the good 'ol 9370 though. The lonestar looks like complete crap in my opinion, but to each their own. Also the Maxxforce "big bore" engine that you can get in the Lonestar looks to be a problematic engine...instead of one air to air charge air cooler, it has 2 engine mounted water to air charge air coolers among other rediculous features to help the thing meet emissions...
