Who's Seen The Movie "Duel"?

I know the Big Rig section is THE place to ask this question. I think I was about 4 years old(in 1984) when I saw the 1971 movie, Duel, with Dennis Weaver. Throughout time, I've seen the movie a handful of times & as I got into big rigs, I could never guess what kind of rig the guy was getting chased by. I thought it was an AutoCar, but my dad thinks it's a Pete. Does anyone know what kind of truck that was??? I know it sounds stupid, but it's driving me crazy. Can any of you truckers help me out?

Ah! So it IS a Pete! Guess my dad was right. So by the looks of your pics, the truck still exists. It wasn't really driven off the cliff like in the movie?

They did; there were 5. Now there's only 1 still in exsistance & it's actually a 1960 Pete 281(not much changed since '55). The truck has a different Cummins engine in it now, has over 1million miles on the truck itself, & the guy that owns it(in St.Louis, MO) is fixing a few mechanical problems.

I didn't stop research on the truck after Wikipedia. Check this out; the truck itself actually has a fan site:
