Do you know if the antenna is grounded good?? What did you do just drop it off and then picked it back up. Do you even know the make and model number fo the antenna they used??? So i take it you have 2 antennas one for CB and one for AM/Fm radio?? I wanted to mount a CB antenna where my AM?/FM one is and then run a spiltter to the fm radio to run off the cb antenna so i only had 1 for both. |

I have two antennas one stock am.fm and then my cb. I dont know the model number for the antenna. I was there when they did the work and talked to them the whole time and i watched them install the antenna but this was 3 years ago so I dont remember what all was used. Yes it is grounded good and never posed any problems. My dad has had the same setup on his truck for 8 years now and never a lick of trouble |

my 4 ft black tuneable firestick was like around 20 bucks or less at a local truck accessory trailer store (big rig store) the cobra was 40 at walmart and again, its 4 watts so thats the max "legal" output. I got a spring for my antenna so I didnt mess up my fender going thru drivethrus and stuff thats like 8 bucks, and the mount at Joes was like 10. coax was like 5. all together your looking at 75 to 80 for a solid cb with about a 5-10 mile radius depending on the geography your talking in. The cb also has a PA speaker output as well. its solid for the money.

Slightly off topic..if you get bored with CB...checkout getting an amateur radio licence and mobile setup. The licence is way easier than it was 15 years ago.the mobile sets are cheaper now and the range is better than cb with the use of numerous free repeaters across the country. It is common for some repeaters to cover a 35-50 mile radius while using a 10-25 watt set with a simple 19 inch antenna.
