I would look for a 8.3 Cummins and a 5, 6 or 7 speed to drop in it. You can make it
160 HP up to 350 HP without spending a boat load of money on it.

It would probably be the easiest to stick with what came in the F6-800. That would mean the Ford/New holland 6.6 or 7.8, or a Cummins 5.9 or 8.3. They did come with a Cat 3208, and a Detroit 8.2, but neither are good donors.

is it the 3126 im thinking of? or a 3208? not 100% on the smaller motors, (but I do know you can never go wrong with a 3406)

before you swap in a cummins just remember, if you dont have a CAT it must be a dog

8V92 detroit 2 stroke turbo, not the N/A. it might only go 60mph but itll do it with 60lbs or 60k lbs in the back, with an eaton 13spd. got 2 sitting in front of the shop as we speak.
older mack engines are pretty reliable too, not the E6/E7 all electronic emissions garbage.
dont trust a cat 3116. no power and always sounds like its missing even when its dead on.
i have a 91 INTL with an all mechanical DT444 or 466 (dont remember) that never has any issues. its been a really good motor and we bought the truck new.
