Truckers chat

I figured i would start up a chat thread just for the truckers in here. There are a lot of bad things happening in the trucking industry and as drivers we need to keep on top of all these things and fight against the new laws. Stuff like this new CSA 2010 program and more anti idle laws are just some of the things we have to deal with now. Much of the same things we deal with in our PSD's, we deal with 10x more in our semis. Lets chat about the new laws, new trucks, old trucks, or whatever is on your truckin mind.

Great idea!!!

One area for professional driver's to listen and go for info is "The Lockridge Report", it air's on Sirius/XM on the Road Dog Channel, it airs every day from 2-4 p.m. EST. I'm not much for talk/news channels but I like to listen to this show everyday. You can also check it out The Lockridge Report on Facebook.

Also, driver's, if you are an owner/operator or not, check out OOIDA.

Don't get me started on anti-idle laws.

What is the reasoning behind the anti idle law. Sorry Star I'm curious.

According to CARB, idling diesel's are killing the children and causing global warming.

Hey star, where is the OOIDA in this new CSA 2010 thing? I heard they are supporting the CSA 2010 program. Instead of trying to make it easier for drivers they are supporting programs to potentially hurt lots of drivers and O/ops.

not a driver anymore but i still think these new anti idle laws and all the other new restrictions are going to kill the trucking industry as a whole and will prove to be a sever blow to the entire economy seeing as how pretty much everything we use in every day life was on a truck at one point or another

Its gonna put a LOT of drivers out of jobs. On the trucking forum i belong to they are claiming that now certain docs are saying if your bmi is over 30 you are at risk for not getting a health card. So essentially if your fat you won't be able to drive anymore. This is getting way too personal.
