Yea, its also very expensive to get started. If you find a decent used rig for starting out would be good. the trailers are real expensive, a good triple deck used is around $25,000 and up. Good luck with it.

Talk to some local ranchers, or head up to a livestock auction and talk to people there is a good place to start.

Well Kyle you could start checking in Bowling Green or Kingdom City. Those are two of the closest cattle auction places to you.

If you have a tractor LW Miller in Logan Utah may lease you on. Baring that you need to go to the Oklahoma City Stock Yards and hire on with someone to learn the ropes.

I leased to LW Miller for 2 years, had a blast, and learned a bunch. I been trucking since 1979 and livestock is the hardest thing there is by a country mile other than heavy towing. You got to be able to look at a fat steer and know what he weighs and where to load him, not easy and you will find your drives heavy in a heartbeat when you get it wrong. You will need to learn about shrink and how to guess what your shrink will be at the first set of scales. When you load 45,000lbs of Pepsi you deliver 45,000lbs, with cattle you load like 52,350lbs and deliver around 44-45,000lbs so much of the time you are running heavy. Got to plan trips well since you can't stop when your loaded so learning to log so you look leagle is a must. It's a challenge, a lot of work, you never get home, but I had a great time doing it.

I’m a cow and horse kind of guy, ranch raised in Arizona! I hate sheep, goats, and used to hate hogs till I had to haul them and found they were fun as all heck! They don’t stomp, they have people like personalities, and their crap is not full of hay that plugs the scoffers on the trailer when you wash out. Pigs are easy money and fun as long as you’re up wind.

yeah, hogs are crazy! I'm a very hard working person SO anytime I see a challenge that looks like it'd be something i'd enjoy I'd love to give it shot. It's gonna be a while yet before I can think about it. I am in the process of getting my A license now, have my Class B already. Get a few good years under my belt driving and move up to hauling livestock!
