I think that you'll take him easily...even if you run a 1/4 mile. A stock '96 GT is a low 15 second car all day even with a decent driver. Your truck should turn low 14's with a boosted launch. He will start reeling you in as speeds increase should the race go longer than 1/4 mile so shorter distances are to your advantage. Let us know how it turns out.

you WILL win!!! i raced 06 which has a little more power than older 4.6l and i beat him by 4 lengths both times and kept the 4 lenghts all the way up to 80mph
