Cool 97 7.3 vs 2008 dodge 5.7 hemi

I want your opinion on my chances of beating my dad in a drag race. My 97 has a bank boss hoss module, banks trans commader, gutted cat, and 3" down pipe. His rig is a bone stock 5.7 hemi 4dr shortbox 2wd. He keeps giving me **** about my truck. I so badly want to show him that my old ford will run him into the ground!!

What upgrades do you recommend?

I have plans for a DIY TYMAR. SO what other upgrades? injectors? 6 position chip?

yeah ... our trucks are a lot of things but fast is not one of them

i was just reading a thread in the 6.0 section and they were talking about turning this bolt and then that bolt and then.... poof... they have 600 hp

B@#$%rds

anyway... injectors would help, and a 6 position with custom tunes would certainly help those new sticks.

You don't need injectors yet, unless you want to go big, but custom tunes, and that intake should really wake her up, also look into a wicked wheel 2 to get the boost up, if you just want to stomp your dads truck get stage 1's

Sounds good but..

I took the truck out after gutting the cat and laid into it and got to 23 to 25 lbs of boost. Is this average or is there a newer wheel in the turbo? I havent had the intake off yet so I can't tell. and the pyro never got over 1150. Is this good?

ur gonna need alot to get to those newer hemis. i had a gtp38r adrenaline hpop php tunes and the other basic mods and i lost to a standard cab 4x4 one by about 2 trucks. granted i had a cclb on 37s at the time. my truck was auto his truck was auto. did 40 rolls. pretty sure u need to ditch all that bank stuff before it trashes ur tranny.

thanks for the heads up

Im slowly working my way there. As for the banks stuff it was on the truck when i bought it a month ago, and from the looks of it, its been there for a long time. I'll pull it all out when I get a SCT tunner or a TS 6 chip.

Thanks

My brother has an 06 CC/SB Hemi and its always close, but he out runs me almost every time.
The biggest thing the Diesels have going for them in a race is a boosted launch, and you cant really do that being 2wd.
Slicks?

PIS 175/80's, Van Turbo with EBPV, BD Billet Wheel
Lots of money spent at RiffRaff
Holley fuel pump, in tank mods, crappy riding leveling kit, DP-F6, 5 Gauges+Edge CS in dash, CB radio in Dash, over 100 goofy little mods
Still pretty slow, just less slow now.
