6.0 vs 6.2 gm gasser

I wrecked my truck a while back but my brother has an 06 6 liter...studded and stock.

He runs Looney wild files...a buddy of our has a denali 1500 pickup with a tuner of some sort....

I was driving his truck (6.0) tonight pulling a 6x10 trailer w a lighter weight zero turn and a mesh gate..total weight o guess to be somewhere around 2500lbs...

The 6.2 guys been wanting to race and so forth for a while but hasn't happened...I met him on the rd today I was pulling the trailer and we played a second...

Running the Looney wild file pulling the trailer he walked away from Me on the 6.0...

Are the 6.2s that fast? Or did that trailer make that much difference?

I feel like from a stop a boosted launch would have won regardless but figured I'd at least hang with him from a roll..

They'll race again...unloaded for sure...

Ideas?

That trailer makes helluva difference. A truck that weighs 10,000 pounds vs one that weighs 6,000.

I guess my assumption that the trailer wouldn't make that much of a difference was absurd now that I think about it.

I think a track file would come a lot closer...unloaded that is.

I was really surprised @ the gm

Them 6.2's are no joke, my wife used to have a denali suv version and that thing was quick. I loved it! The 6.2 in that truck is a vette motor, just detuned

unloaded it wouldn't have been a race, u would've smoked him he might have been able to keep up for a little but not for long. And if it was from a dig and roll in 4wd, forget about it

hmmmm
my 04 sierra denali with the 6.0 gas motor is rated 0-60 in 6.5
my 60 f250 diesel ccsb is rated circa 10

I know you can do a lot more with a tuner on the diesel, but the GM is almost twice as fast out of the box. I do LOVE the f250 and can't wait to get mine tuned, but the sierra denalis are nothing to laugh at.

I never said stock for stock.

At that time my truck was running mid 13s...now low-mid 12s so 0-60 really isn't an issue lol

i remember how slow my 05 GMC 2500 HD Sierra 6.0 gasserr was

and getting whipped by a 6.0 Excursion obviously any 6.0 needs a tuner to get out of it's own way but after it's plugged in game on

I sure don't miss the truck LOL
