my 7.3 vs 06 5.9 h.o. :doh:

OK, even though I'm sure I'd get spanked JUST because Im an e99 and basically stock, I wanna know if you guys have a guess at how bad

My truck: e99, DIY intake, 5 in FBD straight pipe, hypertech power program stage 3, 285/75r16 pro comp a/t's, 3.73 gears, auto, 384k

His h.o. (from what I know anyway): 2006 exhaust and CAI, 5.9 high output , 5 spd manual , but it comes in a dodge

So what would I get less embarrassed doing? Racing or hooking em up?

This is just for s's and g's, doubt I'll do it, dont wanna break nothing.

e99 7.3: 235 hp, 500 ftlbs tq
06 5.9 h.o.: 325 hp, 610 ftlbs tq

Well if he doesn't have a programmer it would be a good race, you may even pull a win. However if he is running any kind of programmer you can say good night. As far as the pull-off, that proves nothing but who has better traction. I have never been a big fan because something usually ends up broke.

i would bet you wouldnt win because i have had the dodges and am going back to one as soon as i can save up for it. my 99 7.3 with no programmer,4" tb exhaust, and napa filter got smoked i mean smoked by my dads totally stock 05 cummins.With my 06 dually i just sold i ran a guy with a pretty bombed out 2001 7.3 and all i had was a couple mods and i outran him by close to 2 truck lengths. it seems like the dodge spools up so much quicker

Agree with the "broke stuff" on hooking up... I would race him... He's rockin a 5spd... That's a big disadvantage on the hole shot. Just be sure to spool up your turbo good and hope that he misses a shift!!!!!

little off topic, but wat about a 6.0? i got a guy in town that keeps dumping smoke anytime i get close to him, but i wasnt sure if i should try or not.......any input? hes got about the same mods, but has a bully dog....

well if it means anything - on my way to work i've come accros the same dodge twice now and his truck is around a 98 and mine is a 95 5 speed. pulling up hill coming into a two lane stretch in 4th gear just hitting full boost and i've smoked him both times pretty easily..... he was blowing black even before we got to the two lane trying to slingshot the corner but it didn't work. the only thing done to mine is 3" downpipe to 4" straight pipe, fpr shim, k&n, no programmer yet...... ( but i did get smoked by a newer dodge a couple of days later dammit!!!!)
