1997 7.3 vs dodge 360 1500

K me and my buddy are thinking about running our trucks mines an extended cab long bed f250 with the 7.3 which has a k&n cold air intake and an fpr shim i should have a 4 inch stright pipe too by the time we race... his is a standard cab shortbed dodge half ton with the 360 that has a cat back flowmaster exhaust. his truck feels pretty fast and im not sure if i can take him waddya think?

i think the dodge will win, the weight advantage he has on you is pretty good.

wow this was like the first thread i started haha... anyways we raced and i won, he was in front till about 35 then i passed him and the gap just kept getting bigger....

The gearing on a Dodge is horrible... even the new trucks with the hemi in them. I had a brand new or newer Dodge pull up next to me at a light and he looked at me and reved the motor. Needless to say his CC 4x4 hemi stayed with me but he couldn't pass me, he stayed door to door with me. I have a (mostly stock) 05 CC Long box 4x4 dually. He had the weight and power advantage but he couldn't do more than look at me through his side window lol.

haha dang man...ya his dodge is one of the few i like its a sport and its really clean, great condition. couldnt quite catch my stroke though!

Dang I was gonna post and say you'd kill him but I'm too late. I drove a friends '01 dodge 360 w/ full exhaust and headers, and that thing FELT slow as a DOG.

^^ haha yeah without a cummins, a dodge truck doesnt really have any good aspects to it at all.... the one i raced though was a really nice clean sport

Ya, the one I drove (i was actually considering buying it.. stupid me ) was SUPER clean.. a gasser just isn't for me.

My truck has an intake/exhaust and a lift/tires, and I'm pretty confident my truck would have pulled away from that 360 I drove. Plus he got like 9mpg in it :thumbdown:

yeah thats pisspoor... ive actually been doing 18 in mine highway lately and its never done that before. so im feelin pretty good about it haha

Hell, mine gets 18mpg city driving and around 22mpg highway...
