06 6.0 vs. 03 Mustang GT

We have a younger kid we work with who has an 03ish mustang GT. Looks bone stock, sounds bone stock except maybe an exhaust, not overly loud so it might be stock. It is a manual trans on ordinary street tires.

I'll be running my truck against him, 06 6.0, extended cab, short bed, 4x4 auto. Running Erics X-race tune. Stock other than intake/exhaust and the tune.

I think I have a good chance already, and I know taking off I will destroy him. My question is, when does he reel me back in? I think I should be good up to 1/8 mile right? Would he catch me by 1/4 mile? I'm going to guess short distances are my friend here...

I'm going to assume he's not a "great driver" and there's no way he's hooking up at all in this weather (been in the 40's for temps here). I will be doing a boosted launch, got that down pretty well.

What's everyones take on this? I believe we are betting to see who buys lunch on Monday. I will definitely get vids/pics of this fiasco as well.

It's all about the launch . . . well basically the driver for this race. If he rolls into the gas he'll take you no problem, if he stabs it from the get go you will take him! Post up the video!

Well a tuned 6.0 runs anywhere from high 13's to low 14's depending on cab configuration. That's about where I thought those cars would be. I've beaten an auto GT before (my little bro), but that was a real short race.

I have a pretty good feeling from watching him take out of work and where ever else he's going to be spinning hard on take off since he doesn't seem to know what he's doing.

Actually that dyno was with stock intake and stock exhaust including having the cat and muffler on. Don't ask me how, because I know it's not even possible. I don't think there is even enough fuel to get those numbers. It's what the dyno read, but I don't really believe it. Most run 420-430 at the wheels with similar mods. I believe the dyno was just reading high, and the operator was not familiar with diesels. It still put it down and it sure looks good in my sig though huh?
