I know, it is a tough go on those early 99's, I keep telling the R&D department that there is a large demand for a conversion kit. With that said we are starting to go back and develop some products for the 7.3L's. We are getting ready to release the Extruded Tube Designed intercooler for the 7.3L and 6.0L's and yes they will work on the early 99's I know there is not a lot being made for these trucks and that's a shame because there are nice rigs and a ton of them still on the roads! Our turbo department sells a smaller AR turbine housing for them that does a good job of increasing spool up time but those turbo use a odd wheel setup that rotates in the opposite direction? 1. Stuff Fin and Tube (OEM & Competition) 2. Bar and Plate (Competition) 3. Extruded Tube (BD Diesel) Below are some pics illustrating the difference between the different designs. BD is the only intercooler manufacture using this latest technology "Extruded Tube". We cast our own end tanks for quality control, the cast end tanks are 3 times stronger than welded and will withstand 100+ PSI. The benefits of the BD Cool-It Intercooler design are much higher quality resulting in better reliability. The extruded tube design eliminates the heat distortion which is typical of OEM and older designed coolers. With the extra power the diesels are producing these days we are seeing more and more failures/leaks caused from heat distortion. We see less than 1 PSI of boost loss through our intercooler design, stock coolers will typically loose about 2-4 PSI of boost. Because of this you should expect to see a few more PSI of boost as well as better flow which will obviously result in cooler EGT's as well as more usable power. The design is complete, we are just waiting for production now, estimated shipping date is mid February. As of now we have them priced at $1599.00 but this may change, possibly even lower depending on final production costs. Hope this helps Last edited by Dave At BD Power : 01-07-2009 at 02:24 PM. |

the only thing on my early bird is the build date lol..keep an eye on the classified adds..I found a guy with a 01 truck going to a H2E and bought his stock set up less the plenums for $650..that was with the turbo too..the plenums I bought new..I think they where 75 a set new... Dave what is the price of the thruster?? my stocker is seeing 32 psi too fast and to much..even with the 1.00 exhaust housing and the WW..she will surge.. PM sent, but they definitely do not fit the early 99's Last edited by Dave At BD Power : 02-09-2009 at 08:51 AM. |
