Interior set aside, I also think it looks really sharp. The only other item I hate though is the taillights. Looks fugly. But I like the wheels, the cab styling and general look. I doubt you'd ever see Yota or Nissan with a Diesel pickup though. I guess time will tell.

i would think that engine could be pretty impressive. I think it's like an 8.0L. Could have potential?

I agree that everyone is going away from manuals but I've never seen an auto in a tractor!

i think that as long as companies offer a diesel pick-up they should also offer a manual transmission. It seems like it would make sense to atleast offer a manual. There are people that simply prefer it. GM got rid of manuals on diesels. I personally LOVE my torqshift but manuals are great as well. Who knows, we shall see in the years to come.

I don't think it will make it here soon, if ever. The big truck plant in San Antonio is all but shut down. People ain't buying big Toyota trucks .

Who cares if it's an 8.0l?...the article said it is probably going to put out 300hp/600tq. No potential. Powerstrokes, Cummins and Duracraps put out more than that with less displacement.

how do the factory numbers dictate potential. My 6.0 if you went by the factory numbers, according to your logic, has no potential. Same for any other diesel engine for that matter. Doesn't make any sense to say, that because its supposed to have this much power, it has no potential

the saying goes there is no replacement for displacement. Those numbers could all just come down to tuning. Any engine has potential. You just have to know how to wake it up. If it came in to market, i'm sure eventually it would be competitive in the aftermarket side too. Hino is toyota, and Toyota has been making diesel engines for a pretty long time. I'm sure they know what they're doing
