Non-Ford article... Team Dakar USA support vehicles feature...

Hi Guys,

This article is one of my favorites of all time, not just the article but the work that went into it. I spent a lot of time with Robby Gordon and his crew while they were making their preperations and my son Kyle and I even spent 3-days in the desert with them for a shake down trip that was AWESOME!

By the way the big Unimog support trucks are better equipped than most serious garages!

Anyhow here is the article I wrote for DIESEL BUILDER.

I will also post the article on the Race Hummer that I wrote for 4X4 BUILDER.

Thanks for the compliment on the article, it really was a great time my son and I had working with Robby and his team to do it.

I wish I was able to be down there with you guys... it must have been great! Were you there with a team or just following the rally?

Hi Chris,
Yes, that´s my truck. F350 03 6.0 CC, stock. It has only 285/70r16 interco Trxus tires, that i want to change for 285/70r17 BFG KM2.

I was not in Robby Gordon Team. I was working for ASO in Chile. My responsability was to keep the public out of the track. sort of security on track. It was too much work for a non paid job. BUT, i was at the Dakar, able to meet Robby, Peterhansel, Coma, Sainz, Al-atiya, see the truck fly throu the track, suspensions i never dreamed of, etc.

I´d love to work in a big team, but thats something for another post.
