Replied to PM.

Great looking rig, hopefully we can get something scheduled to get it shot for a feature!

Have you ever thought about doing an article on an everyday driver with products we can readily buy? I love all the nice fancy rigs but most of us don't have deep pockets and a frind at RIZE, Banks, or other manufacturer. I think it would be a hit if you looked at what some people do out of their own shop (Tank's front bumper!!!!!).

Tank's truck is a very nice rig, and most people wouldn't think it was self built!

As for driver, trucks we do feature them too, but most readers want to see the "dream truck" type of feature so they have something to build toward rather than just the same basic truck that is in their own driveway. Almost all of the rigs we feature are Driver's even the ones that look like full-blown show trucks with crazy lifts and such, they are still driven by their owners. With fuel prices the way they are they may not be driven as much as they used to but they are usually driven!

I would much rather shoot and feature a driver than a trailer queen any day!!! When owners are willing to wheel their rigs or do burnouts for my photoshoots I jump on it and most of the time those photos run in the magazine!

I try to put a mix of vehicle features into each and every issue of our magazine. Think about it we need to mix in Ford, GM and Dodge makes then different styles of rigs so it is a difficult job trying to make sure we put together an issue that is appealing to a wide spectrum of readers not just a small group.

I'll post more articles as I have time, right now I am fighting deadlines so I need to get back to work on my other articles.

Take care,
Chris

Thanks man...yeah...a lot of people don't realize that I made everything....did all the work myself.....and that it was my first time....bumper, safari rack, Herculiner, engine work, rockrails, gears, lockers....etc, etc, etc,....all on a VERY LIMITED, military budget.

Mine is definitely...BUILT...not BOUGHT

Agreed... to a point. A dream to many of us is a form follows function truck. Most that we see in the magazines are just a whole lot of add on parts, a snazzy paint job and a whole lot of chrome. We're not stupid, and we know what will take real world abuse. We'll flip through the magazine on the rack, but we won't buy it unless there's a practical how-to article.

Perhaps just throw in one featured truck a month that goes above and beyond in creative engineering to perform a task. That's what trucks are all about. Tank's is obviously one such example. I spend more time studying a picture of a truck with an ingenious solution to tool storage than I do a truck with a pretty amp rack behind the seat. For example, I just about had a wreck the other day trying to get a second look at a custom welding bed some guy had constructed that had a charcoal grill embedded in the side of it.

To us, those guys with the purdy rigs with all the chrome are just posers, who don't use a truck for what it's built for.

WOW!!!...thanks...ALL OF YOU...

airbassador- don't kill me....but....I have a upgraded stereo.....well....kinda.....my stock head unit is pushing 2 Infinity door speakers......lolololololololol

Thanks guys....But a 17 hour drive(there and back),...to MAYBE.... be in a magazine....is hard to swallow..

That is about $600,...military paychecks prevent stuff like that from happening.....I'd rather spend that on new hats for my daughter...when she gets hers dirty....lolololol
