Wow, is all I can say. My home of record is in NC, therefore both my F150, and F250 are registered to NC. I will not pass California Emissions, and I have no problems with that, I don't care. I will never be a permanent resident of California (no offense beautiful state for their land) but I will not live there, and refuse to pay up for a mistake I have not made. If they have a problem with it, they can contact whomever it is that stationed me in 29 Palms. I am slightly upset at this moment, I am sorry. As long as I get my base sticker before January 2010, then I won't have to smog...man I want to go home sooner right now lol, starting to cut it close! ![]() ~Phil |

O.K. well I just called that websites help number, and got a hold of a representative. Although I cannot help people who already live in California, I can help at least Military, and people coming into California from another state just to drive in, visit etc. The "Out of State" law is for vehicles that come from out of state, and are then registered to California. This is what he said, his name, the date, and time (california local) "If a Vehicle registered in another state, it will not be required to be smoged checked in California" "If you are in the Military your vehicle does not have to be registed to California, because you are not a permanenet resident." - Dennis, Barrough Friday 20090807 1403 Thats what I have, luckily military, bypass! Also in the constitution it states... "Duties of the State Governments: (3) Must give full faith and credit to the public acts, records, and judicial proceedings of every other state, and recognize the privileges and immunities granted thereby." That includes vehicle registration etc. as a public act, and record, of being an out of state resident, having a vehicle lawfully registered out of state. Well thats what 2 hours of research got me...anyone else? ![]() ~Phil |
