Maybe your big bag CO can shed some light on how one of his fellow officers left their man to be captured while on a patrol; rather than throwing a young soldier to the wolves.

It was an officer's fault to begin with. I am not suprised that another officer is already trying to disperse blame already. Tell your CO to do his job and STFU.

He isn't my CO. If you would care to discuss this with him, by all means, knock yourself out. The good Colonel would know quite a bit more about this than you or I. If an argument is what you're after, go somewhere else. Maybe you would consider stepping out from behind your keyboard and telling the Colonel to STFU yourself.

OK guys settle down and leave the fighting for the guys on the line. How about we all just try to support this guy and his family by hoping that he makes it home safe.

Apparently he doesn't.

AFP: US probes soldier's capture in Afghanistan

...and apparently the CINC doesn't either.

Our military does of course have a military spokesman in Afghanistan, Colonel Julian, who has been quite outspoken about this event. I would take more stock in his assessment than I would in a news reporting agency from France. We do get a lot of truth from these news agencies now don't we??? I mean unbiased opinions right??? LOL. We should lay this to rest, as the moderator has suggested, and wait for the outcome.
