Alaska Cold Starts
I am getting used to my diesel in temperatures well below zero (-36 on Tuesday) and I was wondering where guys in similar situations are putting heating pads. I added one to my oil pan yesterday and it definitely helped this morning, but I was thinking about throwing one on the HPOP. Seems to me that the engine doesn't want to hit on the first couple of cranks, and warming up the oil firing the injectors would be a good idea. Anyone have any thoughts? I have a trickle charger on the batteries, the block heater works well, the GPR was just replaced (not a Stancor though), and the pad on the oil pan now.
