New to Anchorage

Howdy folks!
Well, I (we) finally made it to Anchorage after departing Atlanta, GA on the
23rd of May! We had a few stop-overs to see family so we weren't on the road the whole time. Beautiful drive up through Alberta, BC, and the Yukon, and of course, Alaska!

I managed to get my back window of the camper top busted out about 60 miles from Destruction Bay of all places, rock ricocheted off the trailer, hit the window and busted it.

I've taken advantage of the recommended shop, "Different Stokes" and was very satisfied, they do good work and seem to be very thorough.

Good lucky up there! I've heard good things of the state and especially that area! I was trying to get stationed up there as my first assignment but ended up getting my number two pick here in Idaho so hopefully next go around I may try and get Alaska!

i have a couple of friends up there working on stripping a mountin mining gold

It's only a short drive, shouldn't take you about five hard days of driving. Oh and watch out for the frost heaves, they are so much fun!

I did see a pot hole large enough that it actually removed (more like tore off) the right wheel from a U-Haul trailer, sending if off into the bushes.
Luckily, it wasn't mine.
