oo Excursion, AC, Vacuum issue?

OK, so with the AC running, the air comes out defrost and feet vents, but when I stop at a light or sign, it blows out the reg main vents, then when I take off again, at about 1500 RPM's, it goes back to the defrost and feet vents. I found the vac. line and block under glove box and the hoses are attached, but a nipple has nothing connected to it, although someone said it is made that way, Anyone got any ideas?

You have a vacuum leak then or a hose is collapsing. Check the vacuum hoses on for the air box under the hood. Sometimes they get routed to close to the exhaust.

My wifes 00 explorer had this same problem. I was never able to figure it out, but i wasn't going to throw parts at it. Ive also heard that the vacuum accumulator will fail causing this to happen.
Good luck

So if you idle up the excursion at a stop does the a/c come out of the defrost vents?
If so you could idle up the truck and then use some type of propane gas to look for a leak.

Brake clean works also. You spray it at all your vacuum hoses and around your intake. If it revs up you have a leak.
