Excursion fuel tanks

Do the fuel tanks need the same fuel tank mods as the trucks do?

My '00 Ex has a plastic tank. No delamination/rust issues like the trucks.

I think the OP is referring to the Hutch and Harpoon Mods. I'm planning on doing both Mods in the next few weeks.

I believe the tanks and in-tank pickup/pumps are different and do not require the same modifications as the trucks.

The Excursion will benefit from the Hutch and Harpoon mods. It has the same pickup as the trucks as well as the issue with the vent hose extending into the tank.

I watched a video online and the tank is clearly bigger with a different looking pickup.

I can fit 43 gallons on a fill up on a 44 gallon tank.

Trucks that aren't harpooned can only fit 29 gallons.

With harpoon can fit 33 gallons.

Math doesn't ad up and the pump in the video I watched looks like a different system. No fragile pickup to break off and no pre filters. It almost looked like the pickup was attached the bottom of the tank.

Dunno.

Says Harpoon isn't necessary. Hutch is a possibility... moving the return line. Don't see the need if the fuel pressure is correct.
