New Excursion owner...now what?

Just bought a 2000 Ex Limited 7.3 2wd with 180K on it. Carfax shows previous trans rebuild and I know it needs tires. Never owned a diesel or a ride this big. Seems to be stock. I also saw a speed control recall come up on the report which I don't know if it has been addressed.
Basically, besides finding a good diesel mechanic, what else would you do or look at right away?
I think the steering box is a bit sloppy also but want to prioritize.
Thanks in advance for any input.

Tires and fluid changes then drive it.
When that gets old
Intake , exhaust , gauges , chip
Steering could be a number of things . Tierods , pitman arm , ball joints , quite a few things to look at before going right to the box - if box turns out to be loose look up a " redhead " replacement box.

Sold 01 350 6" on 37's and mild mods, 00 X 4" on 35's, 02 f350 4" 35's molded from fan to drive shaft, ridin the 03 with nose conversion with 125k and counting upwards slowly.
Never had CNC on any of it, never will.
Take 3/4 of the info and recommendations on here with a grain of salt
