I've had my truck for about 9 months now. One owner prior to me. Appears he conducted good/routine maintenance. Tranny is aftermarket and the Builder is unknown. Tranny is all black and is immaculate from the outside along with the rest of the truck. Torque Conveter is not billet.
2001 EX with 169,000 miles, 8,000 of which I have driven it.
This was the truck's second trip to the Alps. First time was Switzerland in July, this past weekend was in Austria.
Trip was 350 miles with one Alpine pass at 4,921 Ft. No issues going up or down. Pulled into the hotel and put it in reverse and felt a shudder and it didn't move too much. Shifted through the gears, to park and then back to Reverse...same issue.
Needless to say, scared poopless that we wouldn't make it back (whole family present). Truck made it back over the pass and all the way home with no issues. All Forward gears feel solid, shifts as it should
Tried reverse today, no shudder no reverse. All forward gears are working fine. Put it on a code scanner and no tranny codes were found.
I have been searching the web with nothing solid. I am planning on conducting a trans service / filter change as soon as I can get the parts shipped over here
Long story short (too late), I am going to buy a BTS but that will take quite some time to have it built, then shipped, then installed. What I need right now is some sound advice on what I can do / what I can check to try to get this thing back into operational service to carry me over until my BTS arrives.
Thanks for any and all advice.
