new water pump now no heat

i had my water pump go out the other day and i replaced it. now even after a 80 mile drive it blows out luke warm. i assume my heater core is clogged but sometimes it does get hot. front and rear heat are the same. blower motors both turn all the way up. just not any hot air. anyone one else have this issue?

Sounds like you need to purge the air that's in the system

is there a way to purge the air? i have driven the truck about 2000 miles since the water pump swap and have not had any overheating issues.

If the purge doesn't work try a new thermostat. This problem sounds like a bad thermo to me. Cheap and much easier than throwing a heater core at it.
