excusion P0683 code

i have an 02 7.3L excursion throwing a P0683 code. i was told it was a Texas truck in its first life and i was reading issues about this code and Cali versions. truck is starting fine and driving fine but its still above 60 here. do i have to buy a new gp module? i have heard there are 2 versions and the tree hugging douche version is about 200 bucks. i am still healing from foot surgery so im not able to hop up under the hood just yet and see which one i have just yet. thanks for any help.

tested the wiring harness and have key on power to the red wire and power on both harness connections. does anyone know where to get a new module at? i was just going to purchase one from rock auto and call it a day. unless someone knows a place cheaper or a better model to buy.

Guzzle (Bob) Has them for $125 including shipping I think.
Glow Plug Module 1999-2003 Excursion and F-Series California Models

I was going to suggest Riffraff as well, but his website is being redone and having issues - but you can always call them as well.
Both are well respected vendors on here

thanks. i think its going to have to wait my damn transmission decided to start flashing the OD light at me. its very random and stops and starts on its own as i drive. trans feels fine so not sure whats going on. need to get a scanner that can read the codes. i think it has alot to do with the 30mph pass threw a mud puddle i found. going to pull all electrical connections in the morning and clean them with contact cleaner.
