I don't believe mine has a converter....I've looked for it but didn't see one.

I'm going to see if I can fashion a leak detector tool like in the link Raul provided.

I put the leak detector where the filter goes, right? Pump up the whole intake system? Listen for possible leaks? (I swear I sent this same post last night)

I pumped it up to 5psi a few times and it bled down...but I have no idea where from...whether it was between the intake and the turbo, between the turbo and the intercooler, or between the intercooler and the cool side of the turbo. A squirt bottle of soapy water told me nothing.

Mavericks egt problem

Hey Maverick, sorry for the delay but to answer your question no i pulled my Cat Converter. The dealerships where i live flat out told guys to cut them off. who knows maybe yours is plugged with some major crap.plus we have no emission standards. as for checking about your boost leak. i'd hit it with more psi than that. think about what a turbo puts through it. the slit on my inter-cooler boot was like an inch and a half so it was easy to hear but the clamp hid it.

No cat on my truck.

I'm not concerned about the intercooler side of the turbo at higher pressures, it's the filter side of the turbo that makes me nervous above 5psi.

High egt's are probably from leaking CAC plumbing or the up-pipes.

Add to your signature what truck, year, model, mods..........
