What is this

this is on a 2000 excursion 4X4 auto locking hubs. right front it looks like the tire has worne the shelding off a line that is protecting 2 wires that run imbetween the break lines then to behind the fender well liner. i am going to attach some pics to help identify i might be way off

Looks like the line for the ABS pickup (reluctor gear pickup)..

can i fix this or should i go to some one.. im pretty handy

Its the Wheel Speed Sensor wire. Get a new one.

will that make my speedo read off IE 5 mph faster than my actucal speed.

if the abs light isnt on then the wires arent damaged , wrap it up and tie it back out of the way

well the abs lite is not on so i am guessing im in good shape

if the wires were broken, even thought they may be exposed , the light would come on nstantly ,the abs does a self test every time the key is cycled , if it detected a problem it would turn light on right off, wrap it up and youll be fine
