My new 01

I am picking up an 01 Excursion Limited in the next couple of weeks. I figured for 4k I couldn't pass it up. I am looking for input on what I should do to the truck initially, not looking for crazy mod thoughts just things to improve performance, drivability, reliability, ect. Truck currently has 275K on it

In the last 18 months the following has been replaced:
Trans (reman)
Injectors
Glow Plugs
Front hubs were rebuilt
New batteries
and couple minor things

Lets here it guys.

Also I am looking to unload my '12 F250 6.7 if your interested.

With the parts that's between replaced, its not that high of mileage really. I bought my truck with 250k on it, and it had none of the big parts replaced(trans, injectors,hubs(e99s are way more expensive)) and the inside of the engine was spotless.

Nice find, esp in an excursion

My 97 had 328k when I sold it and even though its optimal to have lower miles I just could pass it up for 4k.

After some thought and reading over the last couple of days here is what I am thinking of doing so far:

-Upgraded X and B code springs
-New shocks
-Wicked wheel G2
-31's (have not decided on the tire and wheel combo)
-roof rack with lights
-tinted windows and windshield is always a must for me
-Its a 2 tone limited (white/tan)so I was thinking about trying to remove the body panels and making it all white. Ive already had the same color KR expedition so I want something different.
-Straight exhaust

that's all so far.....

Good catch and yes you are correct. Probably going to go with All terrain tires since I commute about 60 miles a day.

ill be the first to suggest firestone destination a/t's these are what I run and they do not rub at stock height, they are one size bigger then stock I believe (275-85-16) and wear very nicely on mine. Just make sure what ever you get to get 10ply for your monster.

Check out Falken Wild Peaks or Falken Rocky Mountains ( same tire just a discount direct name). I have 285/75/16 on my 05 Excursion. I also had a 4 door Jeep Rubicon with 37" Falkens Wild Peaks. Great on road, quiet, good in mud, sugar sand. 50k warranty to and a lot cheaper than nitto, toyo, BFG..... they look a lot more aggressive in person than they do online.
