FWIW, the MPG meter, (depending on the programmer) will outright lie to your face. When I did what you described, reset it at 60 and left it there, I acheived over 30mpg according to the lie-o-meter. Hand calculated, I got more like 18.5 on a tank of all highway driving. (I have a 6.0, so you should get slightly higher than that.)

I am going to find out soon. I reset the trip meter when I filled up. I also found the speedo is wrong. When I am doing 40 the speedo says 42. I drove past a few of those digital speed do-hickies that are on the sides of the road. A few different ones show my speedo is low by 2 to 3 miles an hour. This also makes my gas mileage appear better.

I had that. We replaced the sway bar/bushings and added a steering stabilizer. It's never come back.

Oh MY! I just saw you sold the truck
I hope your happy with what you got...I wouldn't give my EX up for anything in the world!
