sound clips they have that sort of thing?

That they do...most of the major brands will have them...the sound is pretty much the deciding factor...the only company that I know of that has a muffler than increases power is Flowmaster with their HushPower...it help with Low End Torque, other that that, everyone elses is just about sound.

One thing to keep in mind is you have an Excursion not an F-Series. I didn't see one person that commented who had an Ex. The Ex is similar in some ways but a breed of their own also.

My Ex has a SS Magna Flow and my parents has an aluminized MBRP. I don't see the need for a 4inch dp on an Ex or F-series but I also have an H2E which comes with a 3.5inch dp. I feel the MBRP has less resonance or drone than my Magna Flow. I know mufflers are different in length, material, diameter and design. That all plays a role in the drone you will get when towing or driving up a grade.

T-304 and T-409 are both SS and the T-304 is better, more expensive and polished but doesn't do anything more than looks.

5 inch, that also will change the sound, tone and drone. I believe it will reduce the drone but don't know.

This is the first post I've seen that adressed drone in an Excursion. Other threads I've read lead me to believe than ANY bigger exhaust will induce the dreaded drone...and towing is typically when I have other peeps in the car for long periods of time.

man this thread has gotten interesting, so basically depending on the materials one will calibrate the sound due to that factor?
