Talking 2001 Excursion - rear main seal

I have a 2001 7.3 with stacked chips, dynosource and Edge with 4" exhaust, AFE intake, leveling kit with 3" body lift, 35" BFG AT's, International CPS (when I changed to the international CPS, my mileage went up 2 MPG), the tranny was rebuilt to a higher spec than I'll ever need. I use Redline synthetic everywhere except the transmission and there I use catepillar transmission fluid.

I just noticed a leak that appears to be from the rear main seal. Anybody else have this problem and are there any recalls on it???

I remember reading about an oil leak up on top that is commonly mistaken for a rear main leak. I just searched "powerstroke oil leaks"

yep - I had the rear main seal replaced and still had a leak which turned out to be the fuel filter. I switched to a cap and filter assembly and the problem is now history. Somehow I know that the oily spot in the gravel didn't look like motor oil.
