Question about '01 EX

What's different about the '01 EX PSD compared to an '01 F250 PSD? I looked at the glow plug relay area on the EX and it looks nothing like my 250. What can you guys tell me?

The excursions use a GPC (Glow Plug Controler), it works the same, but can diog the GP system better. But to replace is about $250....

Thanks. Any reason why ford would have only done that on the Ex?

CSIPSD = PSD PHD

Man CSI you should be given an honorary PHD from Ford in PSD engeinering. Good to have someone like yourself around for guys like me ...in training. Yoda comes to mind, while most of us are padawan learners.

Thanks......

the glow plug controll module is on Ex's and all cali emmissions trucks......it is just a more efficient controller than the strait relay but as was said...its a lot more pricey system. With the module it will actually moniter each glow plug independatly and tell you whats going on with the system more precicely...

Thanks for the reply Marc. Josh looked at dad's EX and noticed it didn't look familiar so he thought he would ask.

Last March I picked up a glow plug module for the Excursion from Ford for $158. The other two PSD's have to be plugged in to start when below zero, the X on the other hand has fired over right away all Winter and it's not been plugged in once.
