Exhaust?

I haven't been around on the site in awhile, but I'm getting ready to do something with my exhaust... So I'm back!
Need advice on what to do.....My motor is Non-Catalyst
Straight Pipe?

Walker BTM(commercial muffler)?

Who's done it? And are you happy, is it too loud...ETC...

PS. I just drove an 02 F250 4x4 with MBRP 4" exhaust on my lunchbreak. Truck also had an Edge programmer(not sure what mode) and a Banks Cold Air Kit.

I wasn't impressed with the sound enough to warrant purchasing a kit Plus, I think my Ex with nothing more than a hypertech programmer would have smoked the truck.. I'm hoping that the F-250 truck was in stock mode. It also shifted really hard. Don't know why

ive never been a fan of mufflers. just get the 3" down pipe 4" straight pipe. what you pay for it what you get. money buys quality and longevity however they all sound almost the same.

So it sounds like best bang for the buck is to cut off the muffler, and replace with a simple pipe. I don't plan to increase HP enough to warrant the pipe size increase.

I also noticed that the turbo was much louder on the truck that I drove yesterday. But because I was with a salesman, I didn't spend too much time looking the motor over for a foil delete, etc... Does the straight exhaust cause more turbo noise?

BTW... I'm looking at the F-250 for my dad. I'll be going back to see it again on Thursday/Friday if it doesn't sell first.

inside the cab it does slightly you will notice increase in turbo sound out the tail pipe

Yea like MyTractorsSexy said theres no real use for a muffler on a diesel. I have mbrp 4 in turbo back and a foil delete and its really not that loud at all. The loudest it is is when you have the windows down and you drive by a wall or building that is close to the road and it reverberates back at you.

These trucks are so well insulated that some guys actually take out insulation to hear more truck

And straight piping the truck actually increases mpgs and hp just by doing that

Straight pipe it... I use chrome tips that have a little packing built into them. .. it takes the edge off the straight piped sound. Not too loud without the tip either.

Mine dumps right in front of my rear axle, I'm going to throw the tail pipe back on so I don't have so much soot/particulate underneath on my bags & other stuff. My wife does complain that it's loud, but doesn't bother me
