"latch" system for car seats

I have an 02 Ex and an 08 car seat for our 1 year old. The car seat is equiped with a teather system that they call the "latch" system. The tethers are not long enough to reach around to the anchors on the back of the second row captains chair. The latch system anchors are prevalent on cars 03 and newer and are located inbetween the back and seat of the captains chair. I was wondering if any of you with the newer Ex's could send me a pic of where they are attached to the seat. I plan on buying the anchors and retrofitting my Ex so it's not so dog gone hard to move the car seat from one vehicle to another.
Thanks in advance,
Wes

wish i could help, but we have bench seats in the rear two rows, but you could try to run one through thesmall space between the seat bottom, and back...should be able to get it through there, or did your car seat come with 2 teathers?, my wife you can either e-mail, or call the carseat company, and they will send you a new or longer strap.

i have an 04 ex with captains seats and this is where, my latch hooks are. (probably the same place as yurs) i doesnt appear that there is a way to snake the straps between the seat to hook it without going over the top.

Yeah, pics would be great...You aren't using the seat belt as well are you? That is what I am trying to avoid because I frequently need to transfer the seat from one vehicle to another and it's a big pain in the rear to route the belt through the "long route" as described in the users manual.
thanks in advance,
wes

I'm not sure that there are any carseats out there designed to not be used with the seat belt. The tether is designed to keep the top of the seat from rolling to the front of the vehicle in an impact, not keep the whole seat from moving. I know it is kind of expensive, but what about getting a second seat for the other car?

Yes I do use the seatbelts. We have a second (anctually I guess it's 3rd) carseat that gets moved when needed. Please post back if you figure out the whole getting LATCH installed and cost of doing so. I'd love to have that too.
