Garrett Turbo

When I bought my truck, it had a new Turbo on it. The guy said it was "upgraded" however, it has me wondering since the new one is a Garrett turbo as well.

Are there any markings (e.g., size, model, etc) on the turbo that I can check to see if it is a different turbo than stock? If so where would it be located, and does Garrett have a site that I can cross check it against?

Thanks -- Just trying to figure out everything about my new EX so I know what to expect over the long haul.

I think Garrett makes a 88mm conversion that bolts right in for the most part.

Ahh okay.

I found this --> TurboByGarrett.com - Ford PowerStroke

Which I'm guessing is the 88mm conversion you speak of.

Now I guess I just need to figure out how to tell what one mine has.

Looks like you found your match if you ask me! Can't beat aftermarket stuff already on your purchase!

Yep, it's for the 7.3, which I have.

Can't agree more -- Now I just need to confirm it.

I have the part number now, so I just need to figure out where the part number is located at on the turbo.

ha ha, yeah, been there done that! I use the home page all the time too, so I have to pay special attention to what truck it is. Before I know it, I'm wondering if mine has the same problem only to discover they are talking 6.4
