I have a 96 F350 4x4 Crewcab LB truck with the 7.3L powerstroke. We have driven two excursions. Love them but they were both completely gutless.
The 2000 Excursion (7.3L) had a dirty air filter which of course indicated that it hadn't had the best care. The 2005 (6.0L) was beautiful but had no get up and go. I am used to the diesel slow wind up and then GO! I drive a 2010 F350 extended cab, 4x4, short bed at work and it is comparible to my 1996 F350 in get up and go. To my mind, the excursion should be the same. What is everyone else's experience? |

Re: Driving Excursion vs SD Truck
Our Excursion is as quick as my trucks... both stock and tuned, when compaired apples to apples. If its that gutless there might be something wrong with it.

Thank you for confirming my hunch. My 1996 truck whe empty is actually about 750 lbs heavier than the excursions and even with a big camper on it, it gets up and goes.

Same here as well as my kiddos & wife. Minimal mods. Superchips flash pack, AFE filter & muffler cut out.

I had an 01 f350 that was tuned , a 2000 ex that was tuned , and the current truck is an 02 that's tuned. The ex had 150k when bought - and seemed as if I was playing catch up on maintenance from day one due to lack of from PO. Ran good but seemed like a dog compared to both my trucks , never could understand ??
