Hey guys,
Strongly considering a 2000 to 2003 Excursion, 7.3 Powerstroke, preferably 4x2, preferably 3.73s. This will be my first big truck. I'm currently driving a Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon and it's lightly modded to run low 15s (hoping to see hi 14s in 2008!) in the quarter mile. I consider this about as slow a vehicle as I'd like to drive. With basic mods (chip or programmer, intake, maybe exhaust with emissions controls intact), what kinds of quarter mile times are reasonable? Thanks! Mark |

Quick replies! Thanks guys.
OK, how about a 15 flat? Possible with chip and basics? I like the and I'm selling my '04 Accord V6 to move to the Excursion. Of course, I'm gaining the ability to drag a track car to the races, instead of having to run a daily driver

Good to know, thanks. As much fun as 4.10s or 4.30s might be, I need to keep the diesel bill reasonable!
This is a first for me -- I'm actually considering a Ford. I've been a GM guy since I was a young teenager. I don't know much about Fords in general, and the diesel thing is all new, too. I was ready to go for a Suburban but then had several GM guys say "Excursion -- Diesel", so here I am, doing the research. |

What's the point of 1/4mi times in a vehicle like this?
The truck is more "utility" than it is "sport".

True, true. If that were all people really cared about though, then why would there be such a large after-market for power enhancements? It can't just be that everyone's towing at the edge of their capacities. It's just fun to go fast

plenty of things you can do.... intake, exhaust, chip, lift, ect.
