manual excursion?

anyone convert their excursion from auto to manual? i was reading about guys swapping them into trucks. how much difference is there between the truck and the ex? i think cost wise a zf6 and all the parts needed are about 2500. a built BTS trans is 4500 plus core charge and i dont think its worth that price. just trying to see if its possible to run a manual trans in this truck.

The conversion should be no diffrent than converting a trk. Might need a custom rear drive shaft but other than that it should be all factory parts. Go for it... I keep teasing the wife that Im gonna convert hers to stick.

yeah i think this is the way to go. i cant see paying 5500 for an auto trans. im sure BTS builds a great trans but i think that is a bit over priced. as soon as my tax returns come back or i sell this Harley ill get started on it.

i will start buying parts in june. i seen reman zf6 transmissions for 1500 and i have no idea what a transfer case will be. in the mean time if you guys know of a manual ECM and peddle assembly keep me posted. once i gather all the parts i will start a build thread.
