fuel question
I have a fuel question related to leaking imagine that. So it is pissing out diesel probably from the fuel water separator drain valve. I have found an o ring repair kit that I would like to use on the fuel water separator lines and such. Are there any other o rings I should replace.
How can I test the injectors to see if the orings on those are bad and should I just replace them anyway since I am planning on doing the separator? Also just an fyi, I was a bad diesel owner and never used diesel fuel additive to lubricate the diesel that the EPA has stripped of its lubrication properties...... |

I am aware of the Guzzles repair and that is where I am getting my Oring replacement kit but thanks for pointing that out. I still need to know if I should replace fuel injector o rings? Does anybody know how to test them out to see if they are in need of replacement?

Do you have smoke out the exhaust on colder starts?
I made my Samsung SGH-I997 send this. |

No worries and thanks for your replies guys. As far as smoke on start up how cold does it have to be? I seem to remember it spitting out white smoke when it was 25 degrees. That was also when I had a bad glow plug control module fricken California! Anyway if there is white smoke during cold weather is that a sign of worn injector seals?

It can be. Honestly, I wouldn't worry about em right now. You won't be under the valve covers anyway.

^^ X2. There isnt really a "test" for injector orings. It is more about what symptoms are present. External leaking is not one of them.

I just had the #2 glow plug go out and the #4 injector harness come unplugged about a week apart. So while we were under the valve covers, I had the injectors re-ringed which had 3 blown o rings but no smoking, I had the wedges put in so as to never have to worry about the under valve cover harness coming unplugged again, and 8 new glow plugs put in. As I stated, even though I should have had the injectors re-ringed a while ago, mine did not smoke at all. By the way, this was done last week at 184,000 miles!
