Powerstroke Emblem

I saw a 2000/2001 Excursion today with a Powerstroke emblem under the Excursion emblem. My 2000 doesn't have this. I'm just curious if the owner before me ripped it off, the one I saw today was put on there by its owner, or if they started putting the Powerstroke emblem on in 2001?

I am going to leave it off anyway. Less chance of having the truck stolen I would assume. It's just one off those odd curiosities.

Thanks. I had never noticed them before on any, but I'm rather oblivious to that kind of stuff.

If I'd have to guess, badging becomes important when a vehicle has to deal with other competitive vehicles. Kind of like male pea****s. The Super Duties had Duramax and Cummins to deal with. What competition did the Excursion have? Certainly not the Suburban.

I have noticed this... I'm quick to tell the year and motor by the badging, drives my wife nuts, I'll rattle off, look honey, a early '99 with a 7.3, or look honey, an '02 or '03 with a 7.3... between the PSD badges on the door or fender, and the headlights/turn signals, you can tell easily. Except the Excursions, no way to tell if it's a dumb gasser, or if it's a real truck with a DIESEL!!! Unless you look at the tail pipe, so far that's the only way I can tell, the gassers have smaller ones.

I'll likely add PSD badges to the doors if I do a paint job on ours, just because I want to. Thinking about a custom 'Quarter Million Mile Club' badge too... but the wife says no.

Love that set up. I have an 03 EX and had the thought the other day, "Why don't they have the PS emblems on em?" I guess you know what I'm gona dooooo, hahaha. What type of rims are those on you old EX and Tires? Mine happens to be the same color too. I have no idea what it's called either. To me it's like a light greenish gray metalic... Not green, not gray, kinda like "what is it green metalic dust."

My 2000 7.3 excursion came from the factory with a powerstroke badge directly under the excursion badge.

That must have been added by the dealer or somebody else, I've never seen one with a powerstroke badge and my brother's 2000 or cousin's '01 didn't have them either.
