Looking to purchase an Excursion

So I looked at a 2000 today. It was 7900 had a salvage title and was repainted a flat black. I guess it was a recovered theft. Ran good trans shifted well. It was a little beat though, I mean it has 200k on it and the dude has kids. Back seats had some tears in them and a couple of the rear a/c vents were broken...anyways I am just rambling on. I'm going to walk on it. Either way here is the ad 2000 Ford Excursion 7.3L Diesel, 4x4


Now I am looking for one of these 7.3's with a 4x4 but it's almost impossible to find one that isn't way over priced...unless it's worth it. I've seen some of the 7.3 excursions with 200k but seem to be clean for 16k Is that just the prices for these big bastards? Seems you can get a 6.0 for a lot cheaper.

Anyways would it be stupid to look into getting a loan for one of these? I bet it won't be easy because of the age? I could be wrong. Either way I appreciate the help and will continue to read and learn

The 7.3 is a good running motor. But that price seems kind of high with having a salvage title and the condition wasn't the best from what you described. If it didn't have the salvage title and was in better shape I say it would have been well worth the price

Yea the re-spray was meh on it too. The drivers side door was also bondo'd at some point.

I paid 11.1k for my truck with a 136k miles on it almost a year ago. Usually Excursion are more expensive because of the chance of finding a clean one is rare. I've seen a REALLY clean 7.3 X go for 18k. It will also depend on your location.

Southern states and Colorado will get more for vehicles because those vehicles will be rust free. Good luck with your search, it took me about 14 months to finally find my truck and even then I gave into a Short bed lol.
