Need cosmetic re-do Help

Hi All,

I just recently purchased a new Ex. Here she is:




I want to make it look like this. I need the change out the bumpers and match the colors to my trim. Where can I get the bumpers? Can i get them pre-painted or pre-primed....Any help would be great!

That's an 05 bumper. You can install them on your 2000-2004. Here's a good write up.

Just have your existing bumper scuffed and painted to match the rest of your trim.

Nope, not an '05 bumper on the truck in the 2nd picture, it's the stock '99-'04 bumper, but it's been painted. The same truck also has the factory body side lower moulding, which the top truck pictured does not have, but could be painted to mimic.

However, I do like the look of the '05-'07 lights/grill/bumper... sharp! It's the reason I have installed '05 lights in both trucks, and will get some for the Excursion as soon as the wife will let me... Have a '05 grill in the garage, needs trimmed, will likely go on the Excursion when it gets new head lights.

Painting chrome isn't easy, takes good prep work to get paint to stick, but it can be done, just have to get the chrome rough enough to get the paint to stick, might take a few coats to cover after the required ammount of sanding... I have painted chrome with no more prep than wiping it off with lacqure thinner, and it comes off if you powerwash it, and scratches easy.

I'm not a big fan of chrome, the grill and bumpers of both my trucks were just masked off and spray bombed after a bath in lacqure thinner, will need re-done every other year, but it works for me. I plan to build some deer-killer bumpers for all the trucks at some point, styled after ranch hand/road armor bumpers.

that second truck looks to me like its an Eddie Bauer edition judging by the gold wrapped all the way around the bottom
