4x4 Excursion Cummins swap
Im really thinking hard about the possibilities of this setup. The best of the best really imo. fordcummins.com - Increase Horsepower with Ford Cummins Diesel conversion kits Im pondering a cummins b series 5.9 add slightly bigger injectors and chip it~ I need to do more research if this conversion kit is really that rock solid. And if it is this might be my new project

Ford the cost of the swap you can have a 700hp 7.3 and even throw in a 6 speed and have a real one of a kind excursion.

I want reliable and 700hp in a 7.3 is going to be carnage especially as a DD.

I don't know about taking out the 7.3. If you had a 6.0 in it that would be completely understandable.

no my friend, 3 grand is just the kit with engine mounts and tranny plates and most of the wiring. You still need the engine. I looked into this a while back and while its a great idea and feasible it will literally end up costing you almost 15,000$ for the entire swap. This is not a weekend project either. After figuring out what my time is worth I realized I was spending about 3500$ just in labor by doing it myself with all the tools and equipment I would need to buy. Paying a shop would be right around 3800$, then $7,000 for engine with warranty, $3,500 for kit and a tranny upgrade would be just cause so add another $4,000 for that for a JW trans.
