Buying advice

Looks like we are going to pull the trigger on an 02 4x4 (if we can find the one we want). Anyway this is the first diesel and first 4x4 I have ever bought. Any advice on things good and bad I should be looking out for? Thanks in advance.

Cam sensor is the only real issue I know of. Ford did recalls, as long as that was done, it should be fine. My parents had 170k on their 02Ex when they traded it in. 170,000 painless miles. Only issue was cam sensor, but replaced under recall for free, and life was great afterwards.
