Are the Limited Excursions noisy???

Looking at an 02 excursion Limited (7.3 PDS of course) and I am wondering how loud the motor noise is inside. I used to have an 01 F250PSD that was quite loud (for my wife) but it was a work truck model. Also, we test drove a 2000 excursion XLT and it was pretty loud too (same or close to same as my old truck). Do the limited models have any more noise deadening materials to quiet them down? I know the motor/exhaust are the same, but do they have any extra sound insulation or anything? Please help, I'm trying to convince my wife this is a good vehicle for her and I'm losing to minivans!!

couldn't tell you ive never driven a 7.3 excursion but a 6.0 one isn't that loud in the cab. not any different then a truck. if it wasn't for the turbo it would be pretty damn quiet.

7.3's are a little noisier

I just bought my first diesel this year which is an 02 Limited X. The inside is very quiet with the windows up. The only time is when the motor is cold in the A.M you can really hear the knocking. Now that I have exhaust and intake upgrades its still quiet until the windows are down. Good luck with getting an X because a mini van would be torture.

yes, all leaf sprung. I think the 05 f250's went to coil but all the x's stayed leaf. that is what ive read on here.
