Glow plug control module or glow plug relay?

Evening all. I need some info as I am unsure what to get. I have a 2000 California Excursion. I need tO know whether it needs a relay or module as I need to smog it and my check engine light is on. The diagnostic says comm failure so I think it is the module. I want to make sure it is that since I went to an auto store and they sold both the module and relay. I am pretty sure it is the module as most people on this site say the exs all had modules and NOT relays. I just want to be sure before I drop $125 on the part. Thanks guys.

All Excursions and California Super Duties have a glow plug module. Tousley Ford has the best price that I've seen for them.

2002 7.3L Excursion Limited 4x4
- 21"/11"/21" Vision X Xmitter Prime light bars (47,000 lumens)
- Edge CS Monitor
- Tymar intake
- Fumoto Quick Drain Valve
- Coolant filter, ELC, 203* T-stat and billet housing
- Riff Raff boots
- PHP Chip (Stock, 80DD, 100Race, Whisper Mode, 80Tow, Smoke Show)
- F350 leafs front and back
- Hellwig rear sway bar, Bilstein 5100's
- LT275/65R20 Durtrac's on 20" King Ranch wheels
- Fred Goeske 2" steel wheel adapters
- Genuine Larry B's Denso starter
