Any new news?
Just wanted to stir the Ex forum and see if anyone has anything new on theirs. I cruise this site daily and it seems the Ex forum has really slacked off. I've done nothing exciting with mine lately but surely someone has.
Anyone? |

I straight piped mine, DIY intake, bought glow plugs that are now waiting to be put in. I really want to do a chip and gauges but it is hard to pull the trigger on that! I really want to do it but that is a big chunk of change and I should because it makes me have a brand new truck and better "MPG" so to say

Changed over all gear fluids to Amsoil. Fumoto valve on the Oil pan. CAT ELC, Diesel Site billet thermostat cover. Putting on the CCV mod from NCHornet tomorrow. Getting the 500 or so hail dings from the storm last week fixed next week.

I just got done installing an S&B intake about two hours ago and am working on getting my Bully Dog Triple Dog installed. Hoping my MBRP exhaust shows up tomorrow so I can get started on that after work...
The Bully Dog is mounted, but need to clean up the install and get the Pyro mounted. Was thinking about the exhaust manifold, but my MBRP exhaust should have a spot for a post-turbo mount, which would be easier than tapping the manifold... Good times... |

The DP will work...but it is much cooler than the ACTUAL exhaust manifold temps....which are the ones that need to be monitored so you know how much heat is going to your turbo. Thats why you need the EGT's....so you don't cook your turbo! Sorry for butting in...

How is that billet thermostat cover working out for you. I've read on here before that people have had trouble with leaks after doing the flush and putting on the new cover, any problems with yours?

I changed out my Tow mirrors for a pair of Tow mirrors off an '07 Lariat so now I have side turn signals and Running lights. They have painted covers and really make the truck look different ( I like the look).

So far the billet housing is great. My OEM made it 235K and figured it was time to change when I did the CAT fluid upgrade. So far so good. As far as quality, it is not even in the same category (like all other Diesel Site products I've ordered) as the OEM parts.

Got my MBRP 4" Turbo Back installed this afternoon. Decided to have a professional do it and turned out to be a good thing. The pre-muffler hanger wasn't welded on right, and they had to add an extension to it to get the exhaust to mount right. Now I could have done it myself and spent an entire day getting it in, but my wife talked me into having it installed and getting it done right. Turned out to be a good thing...they welded it in and had to hack about 6" off the tailpipe because it stuck out too far.
It looks and sounds AWESOME!!!! I can finally hear my turbo doing its job. Now I just need to get my Bully Dog back from Bully Dog so I can call it complete. |
