glow plug cel?

Ok got a question. I have a 2000 X and the cel light came on the other day and it said 2-4-6-8 glow plugs not working. Now I have a 99 350 and have checked the glow plugs on it but I read on here that you couldn't check them on an x or something. I guess what im getting at is there a fuse for those glow plugs or is it something stupid im missing? I am some what new at this so please make some sense out of this. Thanks in advance.

My CEL on my X came on last week and the code showed a faulty Glow Plug Module. As I understand it, the 7.3 Xs have a Glow Plug Module like the 6.0 engines. They don't have a glow plug relay like the rest of the 7.3 engines. Took 15 minutes to replace and all is good.

well the code definitely was for the glow plugs and not the module but thanks for the reply. I guess no one else has seen this before on an X? I don't know im stumped

Sounds like your X is a CA model. Check the valve cover harness for any thing unusual.

Ok being kinda new here why do you think my x is a CA model? I have unplugged the harness and cleaned the pins as best as I can. It just doesnt make sense for them to all be bad at once. If all the pins were next to each other in the harness then maybe I could see the harness being messed up somewhere. This just confuses me...I don't know enough about them. But you dont think there is a fuse? Can I check them like a normal 7.3 or will they read funny being it is a different set up?
