Heated seats - Possible replacement

I have an '02 Excursion PSD with heated front seats. The passenger seats works very well, sometimes too well, but..as you would expect with use, the drivers side is...not as hot. In fact, you can barely tell it is on.

I have to assume with time and usage, the heating element has just lost connection or worn out. Is there an easy solution (e.g. replacing just the element), or should I look for a gently used drivers seat?

Thanks for any input.

You can pull the cover back , find the wire ( it is usually burnt in half and pretty obvious where the burn is ) then splice the wire back together. For the cost of a new seat you can probably get two Wet Okle seat covers with the heaters built in them.
